Cost of a Nubody's membership

Hi there,

I'm researching local gyms in the area and wanted to see if anyone could comment about cost.

I have the costs for all except Nubody's. Their website just says "call and ask us" which is code for "call for the Marketing Spiel"... so I figured I'd try here first.

I understand they may have a tiered system depending on what you want but I'm looking for either single or couple's membership information.

Also, if you go there, I'd welcome any comments you have on the facility, staff, ease of accessing equipment at busy times, etc (would be primarily using the Brunswick Square location).

Thanks!

I don't know about rates, I am currently on a free one year membership based on two previous years when I hardly went. I think I paid $21 biweekly, so some months it was 63$, but that was the corporate rate for Delta hotel employees, and when this year is out I will be using the government employee rate which is similar.
If you live uptown, the one uptown is ideal. Otherwise, parking gets you into BIG bucks, minimum $3.50 in the parking garage if you go over the hour by like 10 minutes. Parking is not free on King St til after 6? (or maybe 8?) and that also will run you $3. I stopped going to the one uptown because I don't have an extra $15 + a week for parking. Parkway Mall and Superstore is free, but the Superstore one is small.

I agree with what Trinity said. I work at Wyndham, so i get the "call-centre discount" and pay just under $22 bi-weekly. I'm not sure how much i'm saving versus a regular membership, but i'm signed on for 1 year. I use the east side gym mostly, occassionally the uptown one, but they're worth it for all the equipment and classes they provide.

I've been a member of the Spartan gym, which was pretty good for $35 a month, because it's open 24 hours, but it's got limited equipment due to liability issues (picture someone being crushed under weights doing benchpresses alone at 1am). So depending on what you're looking to do, you'd have to decide. I think the free weights there go to about 60lbs and there are no barbells, but if you're mostly doing cardio exercise with little weight training, the Spartan gym is probably more suited to you.
