i have been informed by quite a few people that they are not getting my pm's, anyone have any idea why this would happen?

I did this a while back and i flipped some of my user options wrong.... try this option...

In your user profile, uncheck "Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators" and make sure the "Enable Private Messages" is checked on for you to send and receive.

The PM system is working okay, but there may be some cases of "human error" that are causing problems:

1) The example AreWeThereYetMom provided above

2) Some people seem to be replying [by email] to email notifications (which tell them that they have received a PM)... but when they do, it doesn't actually get sent to the recipient.

For example, people who have this feature activated will receive a message that says:


> DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL!
> ***************************
>
> Dear [username],
>
> You have received a new private message at iSaintJohn Classifieds & Forums from [a user], entitled "[title]".

> To read the original version, respond to, or delete this message, you must log in here:
> http://isaintjohn.com/classifieds/private.php

> This is the message that was sent:
> ***************
> [some message]
> ***************

> Again, please do not reply to this email. You must go to the following page to reply to this private message:

So as you can see, it says "DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL!" at the start, and "Again, please do not reply to this email." at the end But some people perhaps are not noticing that, and may be inexperienced with forums, and are thinking that an email reply is a PM (but it's not... PMs are only messages sent through our PM interface).


However, if anyone has verified cases of PMs not working (especially in cases where you're both technically proficient), please let us know and we'll look into it further
