Flood Photos

Here are some pics of the flooding around the East side. It was much worse this morning but we didn't have a camera with us when we journied out then. Thankfully it seems to be receeding.

Those are some nice pictures, really makes you wonder why we have such a poor drainage system for road/parking lots.

Tell me about it, when we were out around 9 this morning the entire Walmart parking lot was under water as well as the front of the McAlsiter place parking lot and of course the stretch of Westmorland Road that runs between the two. Going to be a scary figure once the final damage toll has been calculated I think.

Just read on news 88.9's website that some people had over a meter of water in their basements and that the fire department received over 100 calls from people requesting that they come pump their basements out... ands thats of course only the small percentage of people who know the fire department is willing to do such a thing.

It's not poor drainage systems it's the fact that these places are built below sea level on swamps.
