Help with schooling

I am at a stand still right now. I am working a job i HATE and want to go back to school desperately. I had thought about taking psychology, because i know it would suit my personality best, however, i want to take something in demand that i can make decent money at. I thought about taking a trade. I need some directions from those of you who know whats in demand around here lately. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's a great site from Service Canada

http://www.jobfutures.ca/en/home.shtml

It has a quiz you can do, lots of information on job trends and what work will be required in the future etc. In addition to figuring out what to take, you should take into consideration the costs (not just tuition) and the length of program. Good Luck!

I know of two professions where there is always a demand, however they are highly professional if you're interested.

Pharmacist - there is a national shortage, most companies are offering a signing bonus and starting wage is at least $30/hour.

Medical Lab Technologist - There is usually positions open in this field in all Atlantic Provinces (there are 4 in my family....so I know employment is pretty much guaranteed upon graduation). It's a 2 year intensive course at NBCC Saint John.

Very interesting guys.. Keep em coming.

MrsBeasley, i have actually always wanted to work in the medical field. I was going to take my BA science and specialize to be a coroner. So the medical field intrests me greatly. And a 2 year course suits well also. Thanks for all the info guys!

Why not just take the 1 year pharmacy assistant course. If you have connections at the hospital you can start at around $20 an hour.
