Need Advice

I just drywalled my bathroom and am getting ready to paint. Someone told me that because I didn't use bathroom drywall I need to use oil based paint on the walls. I was intending to use latex paint. Does anyone know if it would be O.K. to use latex paint in the bathroom. I think it would be alright but now after being told this I am doubting myself.

You didn't hear in full.

You should use oil-base sealer; then you can apply latex paint on it.

Thank you.

I didn't think you could paint latex over oil based paint. I knew you could paint oil over latex but not the other way around. Is this wrong. Is it different because it is primer/sealer and not paint? Do you mean BIN or can you use any sealer?

BIN has many kind of sealers. Look for oil based ones, or ask the sales for bathroom oil sealer.

Thank you. I am going into town this afternoon so I will ask about oil based sealers.
