Here are some different sites:
I am looking for info on the Wilson's in Saint John that came from Ireland and Scotland. Jane Wilson born 1845 born in Ireland North ulster, she moved to Canada as a child and marries a George Alfred Brown, she dies at the age of 101. So if anyone knows any info here I would love to hear about it. I am stuck at her parents names.

Most people who study such things think that there are several
sources for the name Wilson.

The other major source is that Wilson's descend from people from
Denmark:
WILSON
The son of William. The family are said to be descended from a
Prince of Denmark, and were established at a very remote period in the
Orkney islands, intermarrying with the clans of Monro, and others. After a
long continu-ance in the north, alliances taking place with some of
the principal Lowland families, the Wilsons moved southward.

I have seen other theories that Wilson is not even from William but
a variation of the Dutch Wolfson.
