Question on school busing

My friends daughter has decided she would like to live half time with her father and half with her mother. All other issues aside, the main thing is she wants to go to a middle school east near her father's, but her mother lives west. Last year she went to middle school on the west side that was within walking distance of her house. Will the school board provide transportation for the weeks/days she spends with her mother west? Would they not just give a general bus pass that could be used from any city bus stop, since the new middle school is NOT walking distance from her father's?

She'll have to call the school board, but they don't make a lot of exceptions when it comes to bussing. For example, a couple of years ago, my son went to middle school on the east side, where we lived. I took a job opportunity overseas for four months, and he went to live with his dad on the west side during that time. We called the school board about getting him a bus pass, but were denied. I ended up buying him monthly passes from Saint John Transit for the time I was away.
If she's going to be taking the bus a fair amount anyway, the monthly bus passes are a great investment. They are only 55.00/month, and can be used anytime, unlike the school passes which are only good from 7:00-9:00 AM and then again from 3:00-5:00.
