Personally I am not a huge fan of the play programs offered at the high schools as part of the child studies program. Although the price is very reasonable the quality of care I find is poor. If a parent is considering this program I suggest a visit to the school to view the program. MO.

If you need educational value, than the Simonds High one is out. Ds already knew the abc's, counting, colours, etc etc it was mostly for social interaction and learning to take direction from others and follow a "routine" .. I as a paranoid mom, found it to be great becasue I could watch him thru the 2 way mirror and make sure nothing wonky was going on.

ETA: basically at the Simonds one, its a lot of "free play", then there is a snack, a craft, and reading time or a walk outside if it's nice. Then in the winter one there is a visit from Santa, and in the spring they go to the zoo. Sometimes they help with the snack making..like cinnabon or personal pizzas. Every wk has a theme too, just something a little different but again not heavily educational. not at all.

dittydottie - is the SJ the Baptist program still going on? (as I see your post is from last Dec?). Is this run by the school or by someone privately who uses the school space?
