Surveillance DVR

Does anyone know if you can convert a Rogers or Bell DVR into a surveillance DVR? Thanks.

Do you happen to "know how" or anyone that does?

Can you set it to watch and record the RCA video input? If so, then you've got an instant surveillance recorder for your average video cam. No motion-activated recording though, so tons of HD use.

Does it have a yellow "video in" RCA connector on the back of the PVR? If so, then there should be a way on your remote to select that input and then record it. If not, then you're probably out of luck. You can tell if you're hooked to the right input if the PVR's still hooked up to the TV by seeing the camera image displayed. I don't have a Rogers PVR so I can't tell you for sure but I've hooked up lots of cameras to lots of different things. Most cameras use the yellow video out.
