Divider off the viaduct

Today on the way to the Aquatic center, I as usual went across the bridge and took the city center exit, I needed to move into the far left lane to go up union to the Aquatic Center.....only to find a divider had been placed blocking the far left lane back past the bridge exit ramp.

Is this a permanent change to traffic flow or a temporary change for some reason ?

I only go that way on Saturday morning for my son's swimming lesson so I know it was not there last Saturday....

Thanks
Bill

Really, God as my witness I never noticed it before I rarely turn up union but I would hope I would have noticed it, I know I went that way last Saturday but maybe I stopped at the petrocan under the bridge for gas and crossed the whole viaduct so was able to get in the correct lane before the divider.........

Yep that divider has been there all this summer....why it's there I have no clue....must have something to do with all the construction going on or a safety thing as people coming off the overpass cut through 2 -3 lanes of traffic?? Does not look to pretty either....kinda matches the rest of the roads in the city, LOL.

They put that divider there when they started work on Harbour Bridge for the summer so cars don't get held up waiting to cross 3 lanes coming off the bridge. It's coming out again when bridge is done the end of October. Seems to work for the most part except when the odd one turns up Union St. anyway.

Yes, I can't stand it when people think that rules don't apply to them. I waited behind a guy who was trying to turn up Union Street from the lane that goes straight. We missed one light and then whem I blew my horn, he gave me the finger! Its the same thing on Chelsey Drive.....200 cars in line and people speed up the lane that is dedicated to go down Douglas Avenue and then cut in line, and people let them in! I almost witnessed a fight there one day...the police need to monitor that road at supper time and give tickets to people jumpping line.

Just so happened that we were in the lane to turn up Union at supper time today and someone in a gray van cut in front of us from the other lane and turned up Union. People need to pay attention.

Just so happened one day I was one of those 200 plus cars waiting in line on Chesley Drive and when I came to the Ocean Steel parking lot there was a dude waiting to pull out so I let him in line, he kind of let a bit of gap form in front of him and wouldn't you know it a little red car comes zooming up alongside and pulls right in front of him and he didn't even put on a signal !!! Needless to say my blood pressure went through the roof at that point, but just so happened a cop car was sitting there and seen this so the cop pulls out and pulls in line right behind the little red car, follows him right up over the Bridge and then puts his lights on and pull the ******* over in the Simms parking lot, woohoo......needless to say that made my day, lol.
