Dirty, flea infected workplace.

I have had enough!!! I am getting sick and tired of being bit by fleas all day long at my workplace! I jsut got another bite and watched the little thing jump off my side where it bit me...I have called health and safety, and they said they were coming to do an inspection, but I mean they haven't even so much as cleaned the dirty freaking carpets in here!?!
And sadly, they have been firing people left and right so I am scared to bring it up to my supervisor, because i know they can make an excuse up to fire anyone...I work at /////, they probably have a list of excuses that they randomly pick from when they don't want someone here anymore...
I have 36 pets at home...a cat, a snake, a turtle, rats, mice, and reptiles...and as far as I have been told by my vet they can all get attacked by fleas.
My bf and I just got rid of mites in our reptiles because some lady sold us two leopard geckos and a tank, saying they were healthy...and to get rid of the mites cost almost as much as the guys themselves!

So yeah, I refuse to be taking fleas home...completely unacceptable. If any of my babies get sick or fleas I swear I will sue the behind off my work! Not really...but they will be paying the vet bills...or pay the consequences...

Any opinions on this? I know I am just blowing air pointlessly and since it is a call center no one cares...but it is wrong...

Tell them to get the place fumigated. They can't fire you for that reason because it is not a legitimate reason to fire you. If they do, I would look at avenues to sue.

*L* I guarantee you they won't be paying any Vet bills....or any other bills for that matter....that's not how those places work....trust me....After working in the CC environment for a long time I know no matter what you bring home from that place they will be free of any blame....I've worked where there were complaints of fleas/bugs/scabies/lice and god knows what else....the teams were simply told A) They would clean the pods (which they did) B) Spray the pods/floors (which they did) C) Got a clean bill of health from inspectors D) Basically after that....we're working in an environment of say 500+ people they can't control what others bring in the building....but the "dirt" is not coming from the building not being clean it is coming from the people you work with....at that point they wiped their hands clean of it....

Just wondering if you could pm me which call center, i am just curious, I worked at one in the uptown area and I'm wondering if it's the same one. If so, I worked there 4 years ago and they had a really really bad infestation of fleas then!
