My husband just got Dr. Paul Potsuma..I think his office is at St. Joseph's...
you have to put your name on the list and the first available doctor will call you.

very nice doctor, but she makes you make an appointment for each individual issue.
My b/f did not hae a docotor for 3 years and has had a few things to be concerned about..she makes him make diff apoointments for each thing, which means he has to take time off of work every time.. when she could just as easily sto making that extra bit of money and open up her calendar more.
My doc doesnt do that.. . get in, adress the issues.....all of them.
Sadly she is full.

by making the separate appts for each issue, she gets to bill medicare for numerous visits as opposed to just one visit for numerous issues.

Call the College of Physicians and Surgeons. That's how I got my doctor. They told me that she would be moving here inthe next week and will be taking new patients. They are in the phone book. THey can tell you who is accepting new patients and who isn't.

She moved to Medcalf Ave. (near Lansdowne Mall). She can combine concerns now: I made one appointment for my one year old daughter's 3 needle immunization and my wife's wrist pain.

Good/Bad Doctors

Could someone please post or PM (if not allowed to post) the names of some excellent doctors in or around the city (willing to travel ie. Rothesay) also some of the ones to stay away from - I am totally unwilling to put up with another bad doctor....it's a waste of my time and theirs. (Rather not have a family doc than to have a crappy one)

Thanks very much...

Family Physicians

Hey gang,
I've been on a waiting list for 7 years now for a family doctor, apparently according to college of physicians and surgeons, the waiting list is 5,000 + strong at the moment that don't have family physicians. Thankful my specialist at St.Joe's wrote up my presciptions for a year for my diabetes otherwise I'd be dead in the water. Just FYI.

Pat.

7 Years???

Is that normal? Or have you refused to take certain doctors over that time (as a family Dr.)

Re: Doctors

I haven't refused any, I haven't received any calls yet stating that a doctor is willing to take me. I verified through the regional and the College of Physicians, they have me on file as searching for a family physician. All I need a doctor for is to write up my prescriptions for my diabetes, that's all.

On a side note, I cant take a doctor from Rothesay, Renforth, Westfield, Grand Bay, Quispamsis, these areas are too far away for me as I don't have a vehicle.

We've been in the city for three years and have our second doctor. First one was horrible. We had to use connections to get them but if you don't work at it yourself, no one is going to call you.
