Diet can play a big problem with gas, without a veterinarian checkup to test what may be the problem not a lot much can be done about a gaseous problem.

There may be many solutions at this point.

I agree with MrsBeasley. Diet changes even simple things like new treats can make a dog gassy. The only true answer to your question is a vet visit.

Good luck

also try feeding a natural food. Not something from a grocery store. try Solid Gold, Old Mother Hubbards, Wellness, etc.
If you open your bag of dog food and it has a greasy liner, you know it isnt natural. It would be sprayed with a restaurant by product to make it more palatable to your animal. That is bad.

If this is a new thing and you haven't changed his food, it could be a sign of medical problems. If he has or has had unsupervised access to the outdoors, (tied out, running loose, accidentally got out) he could be helping himself to something he found, like a dead animal or rotten meat. The only dog I ever knew that passed nasty gas like that was in the end stages of some tumorous disease.

In humans passing smelly gas is a sign of too many carbs or a bacteria deficient problem. In humans the solution is to reduce the amount of carbs (in dogs it may be low quality dog food, it is mostly carbs) or to increase the amount of good bacteria. In humans eating yogurt sometimes helps with good bacteria. Feeding your dog some yogurt either straight from the container if he will eat it or adding it to his food. Taking him to a vet is still the best advice but adding yogurt won't hurt him. It will be a benefit to him even if it does not solve the problem. Often it is a bacteria imbalance. Poor baby. Please let us know if you get this under control.
