I think the only victims here are the dogs.

I understand the reasoning behind this law, but I don't believe that there should be a zero tolerance. I think this law makes it to easy for someone who does not like a particular dog (for whatever reason) can make an accusation and have the dog taken and traumatized (or worse) for no valid reason.

I believe there is a better way to handle things.

So has anyone heard what is happening with the dogs? Are they still alive? Are tthey to be euthanized or not?

The victim here is clearly the old lady who was frightened as well as the dogs.

I am a person who is afraid of strange dogs and I may very well have had a heart attack if I saw 2 big dogs running towards me unless they had huge wagging tails and smiles on their faces so I can understand the old lady being traumtized, I would have been too. They'd be still trying to pry my hands from around the nearest tree or fence.

The dogs are victims too. They are the result of their upbringing and training or lack thereof. Although it is in their nature to "herd" they can very well be trained not to "herd" strangers. That is a cop out.

Again I feel for the dogs if they are to be put down because of an irresponsible owner.

I heard the dogs are now in Moncton with the SPCA, until the conclusion of the court proceedings.

the trial is in January, although there is some sort of court proceeding today in Saint John.(not sure what that is for)
I am a dog lover, and if I had 2 100 lb. dogs running and barking and jumping on me I'm not sure what I'd think. LOL
