Any place in town that buys old car batteries?

I've got a few old dead car batteries that I've managed to collect over the years and I want to get rid of them. I know years ago some bottle redemption centers used to buy old car batteries, do they still buy them? Are they worth anything? If the redemption centers don't buy them, does someone else?

Look in scrap dealers in the yellow pages I don't remember who I called about 1 I had last fall, if memory serves it was worth about 5 bucks. I remember thinking it was not worth the gas to drive it there so I gave it to a guy that goes around collecting scrap.
