Hi to all the parents out there. As some of you are aware Heninz labels will give the IWK Hospital ( our childrens hospital ) 6 cents for each label from baby food, pablum, juice etc. I am asking on behalf of a member here ( i am sure there are others ) to please contact me for pick up of labels or at the very least save and send them in for this very worthy cause. We will also be doing some fundraising for the upcoming IWK Telethon in June...More info to follow..Thanks for listening. P>S> can any moderators please tell me if this is the right forum for this ?? goal is to raise at least 1000 dollars,
I told the nurses last year at the NICU2
in IWK that I would be on this years telethon
with a check from Bastiann and my family.
Bastiann was born prematurly @31 weeks.
He also had a right side Diaphramatic Hernia.
His chances of surviving if he wasn't flown to
IWK that day were ZERO. SO he was flown!
Bastiann was a fighter from the start, he made the
doctors wait 3 weeks before he was stable enough
to have the life saving sugery. Sugery went excellent.
Dr Yancher is a pro at what she does! Bastiann came
home to Saint John Regional in July. He needed to grow.
There we found he had another hernia in his groin so he
was flown again to IWK. We will be returning soon to
correct another hernia, hopefully before telethon!
Now we are working to get through the cold and flu
season. He is back on oxygen for now but other than
that doing fine!! My family and friends will be fundraisng
around this city in all kinds of ways. We are hoping to raise
money in his name and present it back to the IWK as
a thank you..!!!

We just started our little girl on food, and any heinz labels we will save.

I saved them and mailed them from both my babies (7 years diffenence between my kids). It may only be $6 from every label, but every penny counts and god forbid, if you (people in general) ever need to take you child(ren) to IWK, I'm sure you would want to make sure that they have the proper equipment and enough staff available.

yeah when i had my two other kids iwk was not on my mind because i didnt need it,,
when i had bastiann that place became my home...they gave us food,made sure we were stable,,(feelings,life,)
they take care of u as well as your children,
i have also decided that i will b raising enough money to get the neonatl here in saint john a new comphy chair...(they dont have many!! and i kno i spent hours in them)

What about the cereal boxes? Do they take them also or just the bottled food? I will save what I have, I dont have much as I usually make my own food. Who do I contact with what I have? PLease PM me and let me know. Thanks

Andrea your son is really cute and strong. As I was looking at the pictures my husband walked by, and what a small world he works with your husband, lol. Good luck with everything.

i at the time could not think of any way how i could say thank you, this might not be a huge amount that i can raise, but at least its something, so they know we are thankful!

I was in the neonatal unit with my son about the same time that you came back from the IWK, and you are right they dont have any comfy chairs there at all! Glad to see that your little boy is doing better! I am saving the labels as well to send. Jamie-lynn

His name is Kayden ,he will be 10 months on the 24th. He was born on May 24th and we were there until June 17th that is when we finally got to go home. We were there the same time the 2 sets of boy twins were there. You may not remember. He is doing great now, 21 pounds and growing like crazy.

we have raised 439.55 so far,,i was hoping to be further but Bastiann got sick:(
we went back to IWK..so fund raising had stopped for a bit..
but!! everything is looking excellent!!
I am planing on having a yard sale,,,(may 12 the 13th if it is raining)
ALL proceeds go to IWK
