PLANNED SYSTEM REPAIRS -
SAINT JOHN’S WATER SYSTEM
Yesterday morning, Tuesday January 13, 2009 at 7:19am a 600mm (24”) water transmission main on the east side of the Saint John broke which resulted in low water system pressures for a number of users located east of the Reversing Falls Bridge. Since that time Saint John Water has been working to repair the system break, however in order to complete system repairs, one additional major transmission main (900mm) will need to be removed from service for a period of approximately 12 hours to permit the repair work.
Therefore at 7:00pm this evening Wednesday January 14, 2009 Saint John Water will shut down an additional water transmission main which will reduce water availability to users and will result in reduced water system pressures in a number of areas east of the Reversing Falls Bridge. It is possible that some users will experience discoloured water.
Saint John Water is asking that users east of the Reversing Falls Bridge (including Millidgeville, north end, south end and all of east Saint John) reduce water use as much as possible beginning at 7:00pm this evening Wednesday January 14, 2009 and continuing until 7:00am January 15, 2009 to permit the completion of necessary system repairs.
Saint John Water apologizes for any inconvenience during these system repairs.
