We are not big on celebrating stuff like this. Our 8th aniversary last month we rented a movie and got KFC. I am not a mushy kinda girl and I hate cards.

Valentines day is really something we don't enjoy the endorsement of, or commercialism I would say is a better word.
We're going to have a nice dinner, and just enjoy eachother's company. other than that, no chocolates, no flowers, nothing really fancy. However on the 28th we'll have been together for 6 years, so that's going to be a pretty big deal celebration for us.
As for our daughter, she has her cute little valentines to hand out.

Its not just 8 years, we are 2.5 years and well we still do not celebrate valentines days. Well I celebrate it he does not. Afterall, I beleive him, who needs a special day of the year to let someone know that oyu love them, we should do it all year round! However, I would still like the thought!

My guy is a truck driver. He is in New Jersey right now. All I got was a "Happy Valentine's Day" over the phone. It is hard but, what can you do,he has to make money for our family. I keep say to myself "It's just another day". I do hope though all of you that get to celebrate today with the one they love that you have a wonderfull time.

My husband is taking me to Top of The Town. Should not be a long wait for service, with the storm, we will probably be the only ones there!

My son made me a beautiful card with a picture of a moon and stars over a heart. I am the heart, and the moon has a face. It says "I am watching over you" Pretty neat to get from an eight year old!

Happy St. Valentines Day to all.

My fiance shocked me this morning. He worked last night (he's a truck driver too) and woke me up this morning with his usual ("Good Morning Beautiful" 'he's so sweet :p ) He wished me a Happy Valentine's Day and that was that.

I gave him a card and he thanked me for it.

Later in the morning as I was getting ready for work, he was showing the kids a new hat he got. It was black and had white lettering "THE BOSS" on it. I made a comment how that should be mine lol. We both know who's the boss around here ;) .

About 1/2 hour later, I was running late trying to get my butt out the door and hopped in the car and there, buckled in the passenger seat was a gorgeous "RUSS" teady bear wearing a black hat that said "THE REAL BOSS".

What a sweetheart. He earned some serious brownie points with this one. lol

I love the Boss hat story. Mr ********** would something like that too. We didn't do anything too V-Day-ish. I got a nice hot cup of coffee after supper and some of his homemade cookies. Good enough for me. :)

we didn't go big on it this year. we usually go to the Hilton uptown every year. But we're expecting out first baby in a few months, so she didn't feel up to it. We walked into Walmart, she pointed and said "i want that" and I pointed and said "i want that." I tossed a couple roses on top and that's what we got...

congrats crazypeanuts! I was pleasantly surprised with some flowers, chocolates (I told him he had to get me chocolates LOL, I absolutely love chocolate) and a card that seems to have been written specifically just for us! Very nice!
We spend the night just relaxing (this a rare occasion for us during the week) and watched a movie. It was very peaceful, relaxing and very enjoyable!
