I have heard a couple people talking about either a Badminton club or somewhere you can play Badminton around Saint John. I think there used to be an evening at Saint John High School that you could go and play - any ideas?

Used to be at Millidgeville North and Harry Miller. But try this number 632 6005 Sue Bishop . She can point you in the right direction. Hope this helps.

I used to play on a competitive team but not for several years now, I really want to get back into it. Does anyone know if the Y still has handball/squash or if anywhere else does?

Hillcrest Baptist Church has a badminton night. There is a really nice mix of skill there and the people are all quite nice.

Monday Nights beginning @ 6pm.

What age group?

I think they prefer adults... although I have seen some very good teenagers playing there.

Well I don't want to speak for the organizers... there is such a wide range of skill there, that I don't think skill is their concern. I think they just don't want a bunch of kids running around acting silly.

Um... excuse me... who cares.

I wasn't saying anything negative. I was saying that I think the reason they prefer adults is because they worry about having kids around. Not because kids aren't good.

I've seen some kids come and play there that were better than the majority of the adults.

Just wanted to correct this info. This starts @ 7PM not 6. Also it is a non competative crowd at this location. If you are looking for more competative play then I would stay away from Monday nights.

More competative play in the city is located below:
(1) Tues nights @7 at Samuel-de-Champlain school in Milledgeville $3 or $50 for the season.
(2) Saturday afternoons @12:30 at Havelock school on the west side $5 and the play is very competative and feather bird only.
(3) I also know that KVH also offers badminton on 2 or 3 nights a week but I heard it was quite late. Call the school administration for more info.

Hope this helps everyone...see you on the court.

Oops on the time... and I hope I wasn't giving the impression that Hillcrest was competitive. It's very laid back, which is why I like it best.
