The traffic lights on Union Street at Wentworth Street are being moved to Pitt Street with completion expected prior to the upcoming school year. School children and the general walking public are encouraged to cross Union Street at Pitt Street instead of Wentworth Street once this change is complete. Motorists should also be aware of the new location of the traffic lights.
Changes to the existing traffic lights on Union Street at Coburg and Waterloo streets, as well as installation of a new signalized intersection at Carmarthen Street, should be expected over the next several months.
These changes are being made to improve access and safety for both vehicles and pedestrians. Please anticipate these upcoming changes and be cautious of work crews on Union Street who are making these improvements.
