Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider repealing a By-law enacted on the 5th day of July, 2004 entitled “A By-law Respecting Standards for Maintenance and Occupancy of Buildings and Premises” at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 and by adopting “The Saint John Minimum Property Standards By-law” with the following sections being modified:

Toilet, Wash & Other Sanitary Facilities
Garbage, Storage & Disposal
Fire Protection Measures

Basements, Cellars and Unheated Crawl Spaces

Handrails
Retaining Walls
Signs
Air Conditioners & Projections
Issuance of Notice to Comply
Proof of Service
Admissible Evidence
Appeals
Registration of Notice to Comply

Ticketable Offences
Remedies
Emergency Situations
Measures Taken
Right of Entry
Certificate of Debt
Lien
Debt Due to MunicipalityThe proposed by-law and the Residential Properties Maintenance and Occupancy Code may be inspected by any interested person at the office of the Common Clerk at City Hall, 15 Market Square, Saint John, N.B. between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, inclusive, holidays excepted.
