I have a question, I was at Walmart today and I bought a Cosco Car Seat that ranges from 5-20 lbs rear facing and 20-40 lbs foward facing. The Car Seat was on for $69.97 so I thought it was a great deal. It comes with a website to register to the company to update me on any recalls if there are any etc. The seat looked almost the same as one of the evenflo seats just a different color. However when I was walking through the aisle a girl made a rude comment out loud saying she'd never buy that seat for HER child. Is there something that I don't know about? I mean is it just the name? Or is there something that I should be aware of?

Thanks

All recalls should be on the website, maybe she just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, lol.

Okay I am going to check it out myself first too, but I just don't see what her problem was?

If this particular seat was recalled Wal-mart or any store for that matter would have to pull it from their shelves, they are not allowed to sell recalled products.
Almost all baby products, cribs, strollers, carseats ect, have a registration form for the consumer to fill out so that if something does happened to be recalled they can notify you.

So then this seat should be just as safe as one that was over 100.00 just without maybe some of the bells and whistles? meaning some come with compartments and cup holders etc.

Definately, all seats have to meet the same safety standards. Half of the seats are actually made by the same manufacturer anyways but under different names.

To me, infants should be in an infant car seat for close to 1 year of age or by the weight, then you buy that kind of seat. In my opinion it is better for their head.
Anyway that is just my 2 cents worth;)

Yes Babydoll I agree too, My little guy is actually 14 months and we are just getting him the bigger seat because he is soo small for his age. He is only 18 lbs because of surgeries, but has just gotten too big in length or we would still be using the infant one.

Sorry je12122, thought it was for an infant. Forgot you had a little guy:o
Then I think that seat would be an awesome deal for him. thumb up!
