Live at 5 announced last week that there could possibly be 4 or 5 Elton John concerts in the Maritimes. Two of the places they are negotiating at present are Halifax and Saint John. This is not "or" Saint John. They said since the rise of our Canadian dollar it's made it more feesable for musicians like him to play in Canada. Mr. John also said he would like to play at some smaller towns but definitely not outside venues.

He played in Portland 2 weeks ago, last week he played two Canadian town's Sudbury, Ont and can't remember the other but it was Ontario also.

I have my fingers crossed :D

</td></tr> </tbody></table> It goes without saying that there aren't many artists who are as famous as Elton John or as talented, thus putting him head and shoulders above the rest. But for the sake of dishing out the facts, here are just some of the reasons why Elton is a star.

He has practically had a Top 40 single every year from 1970 to 1996. He has eight Grammy Awards under his belt (including the Grammy Legend Award for lifetime achievement), an Oscar for Best Original Song, countless number one singles, and the accomplishment of over 200 million records sold, including the best-selling single in history.

But more importantly, he has won the adoration of millions across the globe. Even more impressive is that he has done so while never really losing momentum. While there have been some speed bumps along the way, the mere fact that John is still at the top of his game three decades later says a lot about his abilities as an artist.

Elton John seems to have found the formula for success and his future looks just as promising as his past and present.

Geez, alot of fools will be departed from their $109.00 or $163.00
What kind of seating prices are these?
These are prices for places in Ontario and Alberta not New Brunswick.

Did you see the seating plan shrimpfan the only seats for $109 are in the corporate boxes behind the stage all the rest are $163 no matter if you're on the floor or the upper bowl.

I would soooooo pay that price though to see such a legend, I can't wait for tickets to go on sale.

Well... the tickets go on sale in under 8 Hours! :rofl:Have you seen the concert ticket lineup tonight!! Hundreds of people by the looks of it all down there at Harbour Station.

Can't say I'll be going, nor had I really planned to, admit I would absolutely feel rather privileged should I find a magical way to go... but here's my current issue of the money-chugging concerts and those you know having 'rough times in the maritimes'!
Was talking to a few gal friends late this evening, one of them was told by her hubby that his friends saw a couple of our other gal friends down in the lineup tonight to get tickets to the concert.
Well, he says to her- "aren't they the ones you girls have been giving some help to?" So she calls me to let me know this and repeated what her husband said. I was instantly speechless and did all I could to stop myself from heading down to the lineup to confront them.

So here they are, in the concert lineup, standing somewhere in the rain, cash in hand waiting for the box office to open.

My sadness is this...
One of them would have had to find someone to watch her kids (my daughter often did babysitting for her kids ), and I don't think her hubby is home, because he works nights at one of the call centers.
I know they weren't paid to stand in the line for someone else as they are fairly modest and don't trust too many to do that to even accept such an offer from someone to stand there all night.
Next, my friends and I often helped them out with extra groceries, or replaced a few toys with new ones, picked up extra items at Zellers or Shoppers if we heard or noticed they could use them and paid out of our pockets, not ever expecting it returned because they are financially strapped and barely making ends meet.
They complain often because of low food, or late on bills, etc...

AND finally, they are currently down there awaiting tickets with their family allowance money!!

We are feeling so burned right now... we've recently announced that we were going to chip in to help them get school supplies and such for their kids until they can get a bit caught up on things.
We'll only one more cheque for them now until school starts, and how do you supposed they will hide the fact that this months cheque went to tickets when they start crying hard times without our help for back to school and the fall heating season
When you you stop helping those friends that can't appreciate the kindness and giving of others ????
