Moving/Selling a house?

Hi,

I hope someone can help with this question. I have a three bedroom house with a basement on a nice lot of land. I am looking at building a new house but like the area and lot I have.

I heard that we could sell the house off the foundation and then just build the house we want. Has anyone heard of this? Is it possible?

Any info would be great.

You would have to contact your local building inspector to see if this is allowed.(some areas will not let you tear down a home, you have to build around existing structure) You need their approvel to do this. If you have a mortage the bank may not allow you to do this. Also, the amount you would get for the home off the foundation will probably be under $20,000.00. Personally ,I would either add onto your existing home, update the interior, and voila, new home or, sell the home and build elsewhere.
