We can't even get OUR Canadian government to subsidize REAL necessities for middle-class households, but they get subsidies for TV boxes? I especially noted the line
"The government is accepting requests for coupons to subsidize the cost of converter boxes for those who need them. Each household is eligible for two coupons worth $40 apiece, regardless of whether they have pay-television service or not."

Wow, are they ever making sure they don't upset their sedentary populace. God forbid they should get off their overweight butts and get a part time job to pay the FORTY BUCKS for the box.

Wow that is crazy.. It would be the same as saying here is a new cell phone cause we are no longer supporting analog..

If they cant afford the box after the change.. they shouldnt have TV
