In the early 1970's grade 7 or 8 required reading for eng. lit. class was Alas Babylon by Pat Frank. I loved it. It perpetuated my lifelong love of reading. For decades I remembered that book with fondness. Last year I found the book on Amazon and got it. Reading it as an adult in 2007 was way different than as a young teen in the '70's. Now I found this book, that I thought was so great then, sexist, racist and almost juvenile to read. Too bad, should've kept it as a good memory. Anybody else have similar experience?
