Excerpts:
"...The study also notes that Canada spends more on health care than any other country surveyed, even though it earned poorer than average results. That means Canada ranks dead last in a statistical grid the groups called the "Bang for the Buck" index.

"The Austrians, the French, and the Dutch enjoy better and more accessible healthcare than we do, and at a lower per capita cost. There is no reason why Canada cannot improve and reach a similar level," Walberg said. "

It's about time Canadians spoke up.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I've spent the last 10 years now waiting, waiting and more waiting to get into specialists, to get in for surgery and to learn what my doctors decide what to do next. It's never ending this waiting. I express my displeasure to every politian I come in contact with. I've been speaking up but nobody seems to be listening!

According to some, they would say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the health care system. I on the other hand think that a lot of it has to do with the callous attitude that many who work in our health care system have.

These places have the same approx. population in an area the size of New Brunswick. It has to cost more to deliver these services over 1000s of kms. This is not to say we can't do a whole lot better in this country but it is unrealistic to think we can deliver as effeciently.
I'd rather go to the hospital here than in Russia or the U.S. (if uninsured).

I'd be willing to give 1 of the percentage points cut from the GST back if that money went directly to healthcare. It has to come from somewhere.
