Live Messenger

I use Messenger to talk to a friend of mine in Edmonton, and whenever he sends me a video call, the only thing I get is the video. He talks into his mic but I hear nothing. I have checked the video and audio setup for Live and everything appears to be working normally. Does anyone know why I can't hear him?

did you turn your speakers up? Or maybe it is his that is now working not yours.

Yes I turned the speakers up, and he says that his mic works. I was thinking the same thing.
