I am trying to download some files that are PDF but it tells me that I need a
PDF reader and I downloaded the one off the Internet and it doesn't seem to want to read the files.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do?
Thanks in advance
Tina

There are several readers for PDF files, but there is only one official PDF reader, and it's by Adobe.

If you downloaded Adobe Reader version 8, then you should be good.

If you didnt, or arent sure (of it being Adobe, or version 8) click this link:

http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.1.1/enu/AdbeRdr811_en_US.exe

It will start the download for you. When it's downloaded, be sure to run the file to install the Adobe reader.

All PDF files should be able to be opened afterward.

It is possible the PDF file you received is corrupt or isnt REALLY a PDF file... but I have seldom seen this being the case.

Hope this helps.

Try Foxit software... check out www.foxitsoftware.com

It's much smaller to run and faster to load than the adobe products for reading pdf files.
It's only a 2.1 Mb file size compared to Adobe's 20 Mb download.

Thanks you guys...I did the Adobe Reader 8 and it is reading them and also allowing me to copy them into a file so I can print them off which is what I really needed to do...
I am going to try the Foxit one too but right now I just want to get the forms that I needed and then I'll try it...
Thanks again guys
Much appreciated
