i have a old crap computer that i am fixing for my kids it currently only has 501mhz and 576 ram now i have a new 40gb hard drive and some ram for it but don't know how to set it up . please help me?

just go to google.com and do a search for what your are doing it iis easy to install these items the hard part if you have never done it is installing windows but google will help tremendously

I thought you needed a disc to install windows.

I think you all are misunderstanding. I think they need assistance with installing a hard drive and some ram. Not windows

need more info, what type of computer, type of ram (ddr ddr2 ) most computers have 4 slots in the middle of the motherboard you just plug them in, but do you have the right ram for your computer. also the hard drive, is it internal or external, which may be pluged into the back, need more info.

i have put the ram and harddrive in the computer but when i run my windows disc it says install all components then it finalizes and shuts down and starts all over again it's not installing windows xp for me.

sounds like aa hardware issue to me

After it finalizes, remove the disk from the cd drive. it should bypass the boot from cd and boot into windows.
