FYI: The white plastic ones are very dangerous as they're flammable...

the only thing with the plastic ones is the stuff gets caught in it and you need to check it i would say once a week , if your careful then nothing will happen if they were soooo dangerous they wouldnt sell them tyvm!
the only reason why i got the metal one, is because i needed to for my warrenty

woofer if you want this one just put it away because you might want a new one in a few months they get pretty dirty on the inside after a few months

Sorry, it's true, if you keep them clean then there's no fire hazard.
Anyways, sorry for taking over your thread :P

as for the white ones, they are not approved anymore for a dryer..they melt with a certain amount of heat.
the best ones are metal...as in pipes, not the expandable ones as they do collect fuzz and things.
Also duct tape is not recommended, use the metal tape..that is recommended..for heat.

if they werent approved , they wouldnt sell them

they can be sold until they are taken off the market.
If you build a new house and use it, the inspector will make you change it.
