Help with digital camera

I am trying to figure out how to work my new digital camera.. lol.. can anyone help me? I bought an 8MP camera and it take BEAUTIFUL pics except that I find they are very dark. SO I have to go and enhance or lighten them (every one of them) I have tried changing some of the settings in the camera to see if it helps but it doesn't. This is the camera that I bought, does anyone have the same one? Please help me. Thank you.

Well I read the manual online. Not too much in the way of information but....

From what I can tell it's mostly an automatic camera. Are you using it indoors and it's doing that? Usually on smaller cameras the flash cannot fill a room and the pictures end up being dark because of the aperture/speed....
