Here goes, I just bought a brand new DVD RW for my computer, only difference is the old one was IDE and the new one is SATA, now heres what I got.......I have a HDD that is also SATA, and there is an extra SATA plug-in available on my motherboard, I plug the DVD RW into the SATA pug, and it acts as if my HDD is missing and keeps re-booting. I un-plug the SATA for the DVD RW, and it works normal, and I plug the DVD RW in AFTER i re-boot, and it doesn't show up in the list in my computer, what am i doing wrong or missing ?

I haven't worked with SATA personally yet but there may be something in the BIOS to change which which controller is going to boot first.

^^ Your PC probably thinks your DVD RW is the master hard drive, you just have to go into your bios and adjust it, just look for hard drive priority/boot priority
