looking for a crib and mattress

My daughter is looking for a crib and mattress in good condition and upto code.She is expecting a baby in 7 weeks and just found out 2 weeks ago. She alreday has one but it is being occupied by her 1 year old.
If anyone can help find one please let me know.

WOW! doesnt leave much time to gather things up.... i may know where there is a crib, and mattress.... but i will have to contact this person tomorrow... in the meantime, you might want to try a place called birthright, it is located uptown, when i had my first son they lent me a crib until he was old enough to go into a bed, the crib was up to code and the mattress was brand new!, also income assistance will buy her acrib if she can get 2 quotes from different stores, im not sure what her financial status is, but just something to keep in mind, ill get back to you about the crib and mattress tomorrow to let you know for sure!

Eep... She found out at 31 weeks that she's pregnant... o.0
They usually have some at value villiage or at the salvation army in the north end. You might be able to find one there reasonably priced :)

They say they are not permiited to sell them because of the safty code regulations. I did try that. Thanks for the idea.

by any chance does she know what shes having. wow thats unbelievable that she just found out and so close to the big day!

The ordered an ultrsound right away after her visit to the doctor and they said it was a boy. They are happy about this, however it would have been better if it had been a girl because their one year old is a girl,so you know what that means. Pink and dresses just won't work on him lol.
The other good part about being a boy is that they also have a 6 year old daughter as well as the 1 year old daughter.

We are still looking. She does not want to pay alot of money out for one because her 13 month old will hopefully be out of hers in the spring or early summer. Seeing most women have 9 monthes to plan she only had 9 weeks so it came real fast.

If you haven't already tried it, try posting on saint john freecycle. They are a website that recycles items for free. Also, couldn't she use a playpen or bassinet for a little while until her 13 month old was ready for a toddler bed? If so, I might be able to get a bassinet from my sister in law. I don't know if my niece is still using it or not, but I can look into it.
