i bought a mobo from a private seller a few months ago, found out my cpu's were all junk, finally got a good working cpu, and ram, plugged in mobo and my intel intel 848p chipset chip lit up on me, now i have a big scorch mark running through the length of it an no board. now here comes the tricky part, i have no receipt and this board has already been rma'd once, i still have the sn # an rma #. so from here anyone know where i should go, or how to rma asus? any help would be appreciated, thanks guys

I would call the Asus help desk and see what the RMA process is. I beleive you would need the proof of purchase though. You never know they may be able to look it up with the old RMA or Serial though. I beleive Munroe Electronics is an Asus Dealer as well so you could also contact them and they would probably be able to tell you the process that you would need to go through.

This warranty information does not apply to OEM products.

Where to Repair ?

Please contact your reseller

Non-Repair Grounds

1.More than three circuits shorted
2.Board Burnt
3.Component Bent
4.Board Deformed
5.Pin breakage by customer
6.More than three circuits scratched
7.Cracked Pieces
8.Motherboard Oxidation

Sounds like you fall into number 2. I think you are stuck with a burnt board.

From what I can tell you have to find a Authorized Warranty Service Dealer and they do the work under warranty.

If not, Try contacting Asus directly.

Picture this:

You're on a nice calm water...in a canoe...ewww, whats that smell? Brown water? ewwww....OH LOOK...behind you...you dropped your paddle...

Catch the drift? haha

Seriously though...UNLESS you find a reseller to RMA it for you, then you are out of luck....
