Here's the background: we went camping this weekend and our puppy(4.5 mths old) swam in the pond that is near the house, there are fish/frogs in it. It's pretty mucky looking, but other dogs have been in it and were fine. She was chomping up water like crazy, the same night she was given a new tartar buster bone(its the large, she normally gets the small). The next morning(Sunday) very early she woke up and was making a gurgling noise and splash puked all over the floor. She eats/drinks just fine during the day and still likes to have her belly rubbed. However, every morning same thing gurgle, gurgle, splash. She seems fine after and the vomit has just been mucus filled and frothy, we did see parts of the tartar buster the first morning but not since then. We have taken the bone away today to see if that makes the vomit go away. I know she is teething and not sure if that has anything to do with it. If it continues I am going to take her to the vet but was just wondering if anybody could shed some light on it, before we shell out like $200. I'm just getting a little worried.

It's hard to say what it could be. I just wanted to say that I just gave my 3 month old puppy one of those bones last week. She ate it up quick as it was a small one, and the next morning she vomited it up as well. We havn't given her one since and she has been fine. It very well could just be that, or it could be something serious. I would call the vet just to see what they say. When I call the vet with a problem, they give me a time line to see if Bella gets better or worse, and they also make me an appointment in case I need it. I can call and cancel if I see her getting better.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks Krista, she does just fine with the smaller ones. Although we took the big one away and no puke this morning!!!!!!!!!! Yay, I was hoping it wasn't too serious b/c she seemed just fine otherwise playing and such.

Is it first thing in the morning that she vomits? Sometimes by feeding a small meal before bedtime will prevent this as sometimes their tummy gets upset in the morning when it is totally empty and they tend to vomit.
If she was drinking pond water you may want to take a fecal sample into your veterinarian in about a weeks time from drinking the water (or sooner if diarrhea developes) as they can pick up a protozoan called Giardia from drinking stagnant water and that will cause diarrhea.
Be careful not to feed those Denta Bones too often as they are extremely high in fat and could lead to your dog becomming obese or can lead to conditions such as pancreatitis.

Your very welcome. I know that when Bella vomited I was very concerned as I would be with any animal. They can't tell us what's wrong and I think that is why I worry so much. LOL
I am happy to hear your furbaby is doing well :)
