if I have a movie ending in avi is it okay to burn on dvd or do I have to change the avi to something else. I want it to play in all DVD's as well as PS2 or other types of players. I also am not sure what kind of DVD to purchase DVD-R or DVD+R . I am struggling so any help would be appreciated.

i use dvd-r and use a program called dvdsanta. but you would have to convert the avi to dvd.

Try a program called convertxtodvd. It will convert the movie to dvd format, put in chapters and you can even customize the menu. You can also burn from within the program itself.

dvd+r is better. go online and type dvd+r. it will take you to wikipedia and explain it. I use dvd santa but you have to right klick and run it as administrater.avi is used mainly for media players (windows media player/mpc star etc.) What your looking for are .vbo files. they are what dvd players use.

+ or - doesn't really matter.

As long as the DVD player being used can play both.
