If you do, maybe you can help

I seem to remember a screen saver for the 64 it was a little man that was marooned on an island, he would carry on his life when you were not using your computer fishing, sleeping making bonfirtes etc I think it was called something Harry Anyone remember this, is there something similar for the pc

Thanks
Bill

I hope you're planning on putting in on a C64 and not yer PC right? :)

Ever see the web browser and GUI that is still actively developed for the C64? It's amazing what can be done with old hardware - I think they were even trying to port it to the NES.

I remember playing Space invaders, it was a table top sort of video game. The first actual computer I touched used 5 1/4" floppies (and man they WERE floppy) and you had to type in commands like "load" "8" "*1" "run" etc. My experience with the internet only goes as far back as the ARCHIE archive server and Veronica, also gophers and BBS/usenet systems like alt.barney.die.die, also I remember posting to alt.wesleycrusher.die.die
I do remember when the systems Commodore64, Vic20, Tandy etc came out but I didn't have any friends or family with money enough to own one.

I had an old Vic 20 with cassette tapes instead of floppy disks. High tech it was :)

I can remember waking up early before dawn on school days so I could get in an hour or so of Xevious or Phoenix for the 2600 on the Atari 7800.

My parents were cheap, they bought us an Atari 7800 instead of an NES because the games were 20$ each versus 70$ each... but that was because the NES games were *worth* that much more. :P

But that said, I have many fond memories of childhood in going to flea markets and coming home sometimes with Boxes full of 2600 games that we'd bought for 1-2$ a game and playing them all. Crackpots anyone? Yar's Revenge?

On the other hand, trying to fill that NES void as a kid is probably why I'm so into retro gaming. Yes, I do have a Power Glove.... and a grey Zapper, and a power pad, and ROB the robot, and...

(Oh, and a Vic20 was also my first computer. :P)
