Ok so I am using Linux taking a break from Windows and I see most around here are windows users so this might be a long shot. I installed FFXI under wine and got it all good but it seems to crash when I start the game.... I also found out Cedega aka WineX isnt much good either. Any suggestions?

linux is very complicated but you can still find good games that are converted purely for linux ex: doom3, soldier of fortune ,,etc.. bare in mind that linux was although a very stable o/s was not made for gamming if you install cedega there is a limited amount of games they tested for it so your best bet would be before trying to run a game trought one of the linux emulators ,,,check on the website to see what game was succesfully tested ,,,personnaly i have a preference for mandriva linux ,,,very userfriendly
