We are all beautiful,
unique and prized
for we are born different
with our genetic blue or green eyes
A doctor once told me
my weight should go down
she never thought of my ego
or paid attention to my frown
My esteem took a beating
and I walked away sad
while perhaps others would yell
at her and get mad
My mental health meant nothing
to that woman in a suit as I walked out the door
to her, I was nothing
unless I became a size four.
She meant well, I'm sure
but in the end, it did no good
but her words did all the damage
that any words could
A little overweight,
I was at the time
but overall I was happy and healthy
and living in my prime
I'd rather be happy
with the way that I am
then step on the scale
and give up butter for Pam
I'm beautifully average
wear a size seventeen
am beautiful and fluffy
and happy and clean
My family and friends love me
for who I am and how I act
so your comments and stares
won't make me react
Yeah I put on weight
over the years
and will grow a few wrinkles and
shed a few tears
It's called "living it up"
and I'll eat the cheesecake
and deep fry my food
rather than bake
I have a sense of humor
I have round hips
I give soft hugs
and won't eat veggies without dips
What exercise I'll get will be
from having lots of fun
running around the yard with my kids
Hah! not a run!
I'm beautifully average,
take it or leave it
my weight is only part of me
and for me, this is FIT!
 a little ditty I wrote for all us Beautifully Average People
