around 9 am, did someone jump off the bridge? When I was going to work thismorning at 9:05 a police officer was directing traffic to the left lane, and there was a back pack on the side of the road.

I just heard from a co-worker that some one jumped.

Anyone have any news about this?

I've heard conflicting reports as to whether what happened to him. I know his name, but for obvious reasons won't say it here. He is a local high school student.

They are painting the bridge. Lanes are closed during this process. Perhaps they get the Police to assist with the morning traffic.

My son came home from school and told me that's what he heard too.
I so hope it's not true!

i saw something going on there this morning. the cop was cursing and there was a back pack along side of the road. i didn't see the guy jump, but if he did at that spot, he would have pretty much wound up on harbour passage.

my son was told by a teacher that someone from saint john high went off the bridge, wasn't sure if he/she jumped or not. He was told a name, but I'm not repeating it as I don't think it is my place.

My bf was right there when the young fellow went. He could not tell if the boy went over on purpose or if he paniced when he saw a police car coming. It car was right behind my bf's car. We were hoping he didn't get hurt too badly.....

My brother is a firefighter and he said the guy fell about 100 feet onto the ground. Hope is not too badly hurt.

The boy tried to hang over the edge to try to avoid being seen by police, as you aren't allowed to walk on the bridge and accidently slipped off, that is what I was told by my cousin who his is friend.

Does anyone know exactly how he made out? I seen it yesterday morning, and where he landed would have been right on the harbour passage. I don't know how anyone could fall that far and live. It's an absolute miracle if he's still alive.
