Hey Saint John, I know there are alot of people out there purchasing cars or who have in the past, and I also know at one time or another may have had some mechanical problems. It always seems to happen AFTER the warranty has run out....I wish I could help fix everyones woes, and I know this can be very frustrating and feels as if it's the dealerships fault, and sometimes they are not as compassionate about mechanical problems as we would like but I would like to offer an idea that may help, or at least hopefully save alot of frustration and leave Car owners with less worries.

So here's my suggestion.....check to see when your Warranty runs out then a month prior to your end date, get an Extended Warranty for so many years or Km's so that when that transmission or other problem that may be corrected by warranty. I'm not saying it is or it's not the dealers fault but this would be a way to protect your investment. If this helps at least 1 person, I'll be happy. So please if you have a vehicle with a warranty check the end date so you'll be prepared.

Thanks for reading-I know it's a little long but just trying to help.
Happy soon to be summer Saint John.

Sounds like a sales pitch?? It is good advice, but most people who buy a new car, as far as I know, buy the extended warranty at the time of purchase.

If it's a sales pitch, I wish I was getting referrals from ALL the other dealers out there who sell cars but no such luck...lol Most do buy the extended warranty but even if it was purchased at the time of purchase, perhaps you may be coming to the end of an extended warranty, maybe that can be extended even longer...not sure, all I know is I have heard of instances where people have had problems after their warranty has ran up...and thought I could just help ease the stress and let people know they can still purchase an extended warranty before the end of their basic warranty....;)

Yes I know vix, I was kidding. Years ago my brother had a ford escort, 6 months before his extended warranty ( these were relatively new at the time ) his rack and pinion (not sure of the spelling) steering went. It was all replaced under the warranty, didn't cost him a dime. He got probably another 10 or 15 more years out of that car. It seemed to last forever.

I didn't buy the extended warrenty... the dealer I bought my car at has enough problems fixing things under the regular warrenty. Make sure if you're locking yourselves in for more years of warrenty service, the dealer knows how to screw on a steering wheel properly.
