(removed) as i left i seen everybody else who was in the store leave as well.

1st im 17 he should be selling me stuff like that.
2nd i hate it wen people rip me off.
3rd i wonder if saint john police force could do anything about this
4th [removed] why dont they get up off their lazy removedand do something about it?

My best advice to you would be to NOT rat out hmphmhmmhmm....
I think that it wouldn't be worth it in the long run. They are going to wonder why you were buying papers and if you think a policeman will believe you were buying papers from hmhphmmm to roll cigars....LOL well ....

I just don't think you should get the police involved. Call and ask to speak to the manager.

I would call and speak to the manager, explain it all to him. When his tray is balanced at the end of the day then he should be over. It will be returned to you then(should be!). All clerks are human and we all make mistakes. It could have been done very honestly.

it looked like he pocketed the money. i stared at something on the counter for a few minutes. and he was the manager

04-19-2007, 11:46 AM
I am not accusing you of anything I am just saying the police will be suspicious, but that is their job.

You should be aware that I do not think you should be posting the business's name and accusing them of a crime on isaintjohn.

It's not cool to rat them out because they sold you papers. You also were willing to participate in illegal activity since you are underage and shouldn't be smoking.

vanessalynn5484
04-19-2007, 11:47 AM
What did he look like? Did you get his name? Hun, I doubt the manager is going steal your money....but I could be wrong.

Krash
04-19-2007, 11:50 AM
i will take the name out of my post. as should you. but i honestly dont think its rite. i wouldnt care if it was $10 but i have to pay rent as well as everyone else out there. and im not looking to charge them. but i believe if say ardenes ripped you off like that i dont think that you would just walk away

Krash
04-19-2007, 11:50 AM
it is you know where. i have have seen him lighting up a few time uptown. he looked pretty wacked. and he is the blonde fellow with a buzz cut

Krash
04-19-2007, 11:52 AM
im not a hard guy to get along with and i could have pulled him over the counter or just sat there and argued with him because he had a mind set that i gave him $5

vanessalynn5484
04-19-2007, 11:52 AM
all removed now, I didn't think until it was too late.

I see your point, but you really should have argued it while you were there. I think that would have been your best chance of getting it back. Try calling and asking to speak to the store owner or the highest authority you can get it touch with.

Krash
04-19-2007, 11:54 AM
ya i will try. i would have stayed and faught about it but the store was full of customers

vanessalynn5484
04-19-2007, 11:55 AM
Yeah, but they would have maybe gave you your money back just to quiet you down at that point ;) I do not know what I would have done either, I can't say for certain.

Krash
04-19-2007, 11:57 AM
lol i know you never think of something untill its to late but im going to call the store and ask for the owners number. i should have staid but i felt like an ass staying there for a fer minutes

vanessalynn5484
04-19-2007, 12:00 PM
They had no right to rip you off, I am not saying that. I am sorry you got stiffed on buying your papers that really is not cool. I never tried to buy anything like that until I was over the age of 19 and I still get Id' ed. I have got carded in HmpphHmmm before.

Krash
04-19-2007, 12:03 PM

Did you get your change back?

care1978
04-20-2007, 08:38 AM
i would go back to the store, and let him call the cops (which i doubt he will ) i think he is just trying to punk you off because you are young, but i could be wrong.
if argue enough in fron of the cop that he jacked your change, then the cop might actually take a step back and think about it,,,, things like tis do happen, all te time, it has happened to me on many occassions(getting the wrong change) you may have a shot... but just let him call the cops, then he's the rat and not you ;)

Has anyone ever even taken into consideration that this guy is lying/mistaken. Maybe he's not being 'punked' maybe it was a mistake on his(or her) part, and not the person behind the cash.

vanessalynn5484
04-20-2007, 08:56 AM
Well wouldn't they be able to tell anyways from counting the money in the till? They must have to keep track or how would they know if employees were stealing?

Yeah . I just woke up, and forgive me that I question a 17 year old who is buying papers in the first place... If I were underage and trying to buy something that was against the law for me to purchase, I would be a bit nervous about it, as would most I know. There's a lot of room for error there. Maaaaaybe he did hand him a $5. -shrug-.

Oh no, it's a valid point I wasn't trying to minimize it just trying to make you laugh or at least snicker. LOL:D

My God...and they say the meek shall inherit the earth, lol ?? I would ask for the boss or the owner and if not, then come back at closing time to see if his/her cash is overbalanced. - Rick (or cause such a scene that the Police would be involved, then they would make the 'proper' suggestion.I would NEVER let this character get away with it !!!!! But that's me,lol.)

That sort of thing happens to me every time I go to the Tree-mile, (I do know how to spell but would like to refrain from naming the establishment). Pay for a beer with a 20 or 50, and get change back for a 10. They always say "Yeah right!" Try proving it with beer on your breath.

One time it happened to a friend of mine, paid with a 50, got back change for a 20. I wasn't drinking and called the curly-haired young blonde male bartender on it. He didn't say a word, turned around for a second, then threw some more money on the table and went on to serve someone else without a word. The joke was on him, he gave us more than the due amount, and paid for our beers.

Everytime?

Then why would you keep paying with a $50?

Seems kinda.....Stupid.

Anytime I ever went to the "tree" the bartenders always gave me back correct change, especially one with curly blond hair. I would be peeved if you paid for a $5 drink with a $50 and I had to give you all my change! One time I paid the shooter girl with a 20 and felt so bad seeing her dig for change holding that huge tray I gave her a $5 tip!

I do not like to drink, but my girlfriends do drag me out to dance and sometimes I will submit to their terrible peer pressure. Keep in mind 2 shots or 2 drinks and I am drunk! It's a rare and usually quite hilarious occurance.

do you know that the 3-mile has the enitre place under camera security. If a bartender has pocked the money complaine to the mgmt, they can easily see it on tape.

Tim hortons tried to do that, I gave them a 20 and he only gave me change for 10. I started to drive away and got to the end of the drive thru, turned around and went back through. They went on about a policy and wanted to take my number and when the float was counted etc etc.. and I said "Certainly, what else do you want to know? Because I'm following this up with management. I'm through here almost every day, I can come back. " Then i put my car in park in the drive through and waited for them to ask me for more information and they gave me the $10. You know, if I had even a shadow of a doubt what I had had in my wallet, I would have let it go too, but as it turned out, I had looked in my wallet before leaving the house less than 5 minutes before to make sure I had enough money for the laundromat and all I had was a $20-if I had only $10 I would have had to go to the bank before I went because between coffee, laundry and parking meter I would have spent more than a ten.
