Why Moncton and not Saint John

My turn to spaz a bit.....For years I have noticed that Moncton is able to
organize and hold events that no doubt put a lot of cash in the local economy.
Hotels, bars, restaurants,convenience stores,ect..
Every year they have the giant outdoor yardsale by Magnetic Hill, out door concerts, The national car rally, just to name a few.
These events fill the city, and create a great atmosphere.
The Nationals Car Rally is one of the largest in Canada.
This year they have started a Motor Cycle Rally called Atlanticade.
It will bring in excess of 50,000 riders to the area.
They recoganize the today's riders are people with an expendable income.
They will take advantage of this and bring a lot of cash into their city.
I am a proud to say I live in Saint John. It is a great city!
We.........Someone.........has to take the reins and bring some of these events to our city.

Where in this city could you hold a concert? No where. We don't have any place like that here. Moncton does. Moncton is called The Hub City for a reason.

we also have a slight fog problem, so events right in the city have a potential to not be as good. It would have to be outside of the city center, which is good, but not as good...

they've tried having things at mispec park....not as large scale as moncton...but at least it's something.

I'm not a concert goer, but if the weather is the problem can't these concerts be held at harbour station, or is it too small?

I don't necessarily mean a concert...it could be a lot of things..
The nationals in Moncton bring hundreds of thousands of people
to the city.
The motorcycle rally is the first of its kind in this area and with the
advertising and promoting they are doing, it should bring another
seventy five to one hundred thousand people over a five day period.
I am sure there are things we can do to create some excitement in this city.
We seem to do well to create excitement for a few hours. The Tuesday night car show....the Saint John Idol....why can't we set our sites a little higher.
