Does anybody have any leads on any "special" places to get your child's first haircut, i.e. anywhere you get a little certificate for their baby book, or where they might do it for free.

I took my daughter to Reflections on the west side for hers. They gave her a cute certificate that they put a lock of her hair on. I don't remember how much i paid, but they're prices are really reasonable.

I went to first choice! They gave him a certificate with a lock of hair too....his first haircut was free! I'm not sure if they still do that or not

My son's hair was so thick, I used the electric clippers..

The Rothesay Corner Barbershop is cute, they have all antique chairs. The chilrens chair has a horses head poking out the front like they're on a merry-go-round (it's really cute) they have this facing a tv and VCR where the child is distracted by a video or they can see themselves in the mirror too. I kept a lock of his hair and took pictures.
