New roof!

Hi,

I am going to have the roof on one of my units replaced in 2011. It was on my list for a long time but now I'm ready.

Did you ever get your roof replaced and what experience did you have with the roofer?
I am interested in EVERYTHING, the horror stories, the kudos!

Yes, I had a new roof put on. I was very pleased with my roofing contractor. He was a genuine roofer and not a part time one. If I have any issues, he will take care of that.
Don't wait to get it done if you are thinking you have leak issues.

Also now because fiberglass shingles are the norm, if you have a board roof, you will need to either cover it over with sheathing (if using 3 tab shingles) or they won't last. They are thinner than the asphalt ones where and do not have the forgiveness for the weather expansions and moving of a roof. However, if you use the architectural ones, no worries. Use tar paper & ice & water shield as well.
Make sure you roofer understands the nailing pattern as well if they are above the 3 tab style.
