the tobacco grew very well and got to be about the size of rhubarb. i did have some trouble drying it, some of it got moldy.

at the time i did not know that a good tobacco is a mixture of several tobaccos in a blend. so it was not what i expected. oh well it was fun to watch it grow.

i think that veggie flowers are some of the most beautiful around so it adds to the enjoyment, and a good photo op as well.

Kohl Rabi is like a mild flavoured turnip. My family likes it raw but not really pleased with it cooked.
We grew tabbaco last year for the first time and it grew quite well but like you we had a hard time getting it dried because we didn't realize how long it would take to dry and we still had it hanging in November when it rained about every other day.Did you split your stalks?
What type of tabbaco do you have? I have seeds for Virginia Gold. If you had something different maybe we could swap some seeds so we would each have two kinds.
Do you grow flowers as well or just vegetables? I am more into flowers and have already winter sown quite a few and am now starting a lot of annuals in the house now to put out in the greenhouse hopefully by the first of April if the weather cooperates.
It will be time soon to start taking the begonia bulbs and dahlias out of winter storage and getting them growing as well, can't wait.I have a few dahlias in the house blooming right now, they started to sprout in the box I had them in so I potted them up.

Now that I can see a big patch of my yard ( thank you fog) I am starting to get excited. I haven't grown any veggies other than tomatoes but I'm going to give it a shot this year. I'm thinking of trying peppers (green, red, yellow), squash and well... I can't seem to decide on a couple more.

Last fall I planted a Lilly bed and I can't wait to see how that goes, I also made 4 huge planters and I'm planning to fill them with dahlias. I've ordered one from vesseys that has a blossom as big as a dinner plate. I also ordered seeds from them to plant a butterfly garden.

I also love to take pics of my flowers, they then become my fall screensaver.

i grew tabbaco about five years ago if memory serves me it was kentucky burly. your offer sounds good if i can get some seed i will put some in.
i have 6000 square feet for veg. and flowers get planted all over the place.
i have some pics and will try to get some posted on the weekend.

i let thistle overtake the area i used to have grass and the butterflies love it. and the scent is out of this world.

speaking of scent, i would like to try making perfume and so far the best scent i found was water lily.

if i can find the time this year i will gather some and try it.

I am soooo jealous!! I love flower and vegetable gardens. When I owned my own home, I had many, and that's where I felt most relaxed, (kids hated having to pull weeds, so they stayed away, lol) Where I live now, it is pretty much a no go for any type of gardens, even potted plants. But, I wish you all much success and enjoyment with your gardens this year!!

The pictures are fantastic!! If someone wanted to spare a small spot...I would LOVE to dig in it! LOL. Seriously though, gardening is the MOST unbelievable way to relax. I miss it soooo much!
