My son wants a DVD burner from Santa Claus for Christmas. Anyone have any recommendations? What do these usually cost?

You can get DVD burners with lightscribe in them for less then $100. They're pretty fun. Lightscribe is where the laser in the DVD burner is able to burn labels into the top of the disks. Example http://www.jaaarek.pl/allegro/lightscribe_1.jpg

Lightscribe is good and all, but it costs extra for the discs. It's useful when you are making a family movie, but other than that. Waste.

I use my Lightscribe all of the time. The disks have come way down in price. It is so worth it!
